Dr. Bell is a registered psychologist who has specialized in empowering children and parents for many years. Dr. Bell's work includes providing therapy to individuals, families, and parents. She has a background working with children and adults who have histories of trauma. These clients have come to Dr. Bell with a wide background of experiences, for example: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and foster care.
In addition, Dr. Bell works with clients living with anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, marital conflict, and family roadblocks to healthy relationships. Dr. Bell has extensive training in play therapy, and utilizes play and attachment therapy techniques in her eclectic approach to counselling. Dr. Bell enjoys sharing her love of clinical work and the spirit of children through teaching and supervising practitioners in their clinical work. She teaches at the graduate level and supervises clinicians at all levels of career development. Dr. Bell works primarily out of our Vancouver location.
Dr. Lapointe has been supporting families and children for 10 years. Dr. Lapointe's areas of expertise include psychoeducational and developmental assessment of children, as well as counselling children of all ages and supporting parents. Dr. Lapointe uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her counselling work, including play therapy, to help families and children with issues concerning parent/child attachment, parent/family empowerment, as well as anxiety, behavioural and mood difficulties.
Dr. Lapointe is also actively involved in the provincial early childhood community through educational programming and through specific community-based research initiatives. Dr. Lapointe is an invited professor as part of York University’s delivery of an Infant Mental Health Certification Program in British Columbia through the University of BC. Dr. Lapointe also enjoys teaching seminars to a wide range of professionals and parents throughout British Columbia, and consults with local and provincial organizations in a collaborative effort to improve outcomes for all young children. Dr. Lapointe works primarily out of our South Surrey location.
